The N.G.C (Negro Gas Co. est. 1965) is a conceptual design. I wanted to visualize what a black-owned oil company would look like. This gas station would be included in the Green Book: Negro Travel Guide, it included a motel, tackle shop, and diner. Poets wrote here, revolutionaries stayed here; black people found this gas station, safe—-theirs.
